I received a letter in the mail stating that I had won 45, 000 in an end-of-year sweepstakes. The letter stated that I had won this money and if I didn't claim this money within 2 weeks that I would be no longer able to claim the money and my file would be closed. The 3, 100 said that this was a partial payment issued to all prize winners to help pay taxes and administrative fees. I was told to call an agent immediately after receiving the check. The agent listed was Dana Morrison in Niagara Falls ON, phone 1-905-324-1951. The letter also stated that for security purposes to keep the winnings confidential until the claims have been processes. Winners were also advised not to disclose information to financial institutions or local banks. Stating that if you did this you would pay higher taxes on your winnings. They claim that one winner paid close to $9000 in taxes. The letter is signed Rick Maher, Prize Director.
