THESE NAMES ARE ALL THE ALIASES OF THE SAME COMPANY!! Moving by itself is a high enough stress for most of us, please read information below to spare yourself and those you know from extra pain and suffering caused by companies such as these. Please feel free to pass this info to those you know and if you have fallen victim to either of these companies, please take action and stand up to them by reporting them to the BBB, complaint, Local Authorities, Ministry of Government and Consumer Services - Consumer protection branch, Craigslist Admin, admin of the ads where these companies posted their services, etc. Together we can make a difference!
Info on these companies that are doubtful (based on TRUE ACCOUNT):
1. They have many aliases
2. Their latest name, D&D Movers, is nowhere to be found on yellow pages nor canada411
3. The postal code on one of their ads is actually that of an apt building
4. There is no physical address on their invoice
5. They are involved in a deceptive, dishonest business practise i.e. they turn back on their words esp their prices. They will tell you one thing over the phone and just at the right time before unloading, they sprang a piece of paper (the invoice) to your face charging you outrageous fees and a marked up labour charge, telling you to pay them in full before they are willing to unload. Their scheme is so well planned that the boss/owner himself is not doing the moving and the movers claimed to know nothing of the charge, saying it's what they are told to charge. Trying to negotiate at this point with the boss/owner was a futile attempt, only to fall on deaf ear and faced with rude remarks.
6. Contrary to their advertising, they are not professional nor reliable movers at all. Items were cracked, missing only later to be found in pieces left behind in the loading area, broken and needed to be fixed professionally, boxes were placed carelessly and all over the place, etc
7. I also highly doubt the legitimacy of these companies being registered with the Canadian Revenue Agency to levy any taxes, since on the invoice there were no GST/PST number. If this is indeed so, just on the matter of taxes alone, they had committed a criminal offense of fraud. Further, most movers only charge a 6% GST; however, with them they charged a 14% GST PST.
8. Apparently, I am not the only one standing up to them. On the craigslist posting ID 462170851, someone has had an unpleasant experience with them as well.
