I purchased a new washer from sears which was delivered the next day. The installers broke off the faucet and as a result water flooded my garage damaging boxes, etc. I was told by the installers they could not fix it and they would call their supervisor.
I spoke with the supervisor who convinced me to call a plumber and to fax the bill to him and they would reimburse me. The supervisor also confirmed that the installers said it was "Their fault". The next day I faxed the bill over ($330) and five minutes later I received a call from the supervisor stating they will not pay because my faucet was rusted.
I also had indoor/outdoor carpeting which was ruined and they refused to pay me for that. I was told by Sears that they are not responsible for their own installation people. I stated to them, unless a home is brand new, why would they take the faucet off without turning the water off in the first place.
My husband called the supervisor of their installation department to get their address (we are filing a small claims suit) and he stated "I will gladly give you our address, we fight small claims all the time". I am very disappointed in Sears and have decided to cancel delivery of a new refrigerator I purchased.
