Shaun Nickson was selling Tickets to a sold out
Radiohead show in Vancouver via Craigslist Vancouver. They were slightly cheaper than the other advertisements, but I had found tickets around the same price and were generally not a fantastic deal.
I've used Craigslist many times, and havn't had any problems with fraud in the past. I suppose I let my guard down.
He was to send me two, hard copy tickets for the August 19th show. He provided his address, name, hometown, and email, and said he would send them out the next morning. He asked me if I was 100% in on the purchase. I said yes, and planned to send him money the next morning.
I didn't end up doing it until the following day. He hadn't even sent the package at this point. He told me that he would send it as soon as he received the transaction.
I sent the money, he sent me a tracking number for Fedex Express Overnight Delivery that didn't check out.
When I inquired as to why this was, he said he'd look into it, and later told me that it is in my town and I should receive it soon.
The weekend came, so I waited until Monday to expect anything.
I eventually realized that I had been a victim of Auction Fraud, and promptly reported him.
I have back and forth email confirmation that Shaun Nickson was going to send me tickets to the upcoming concert in Vancouver.
He gave me his name, his address, and a false tracking number for a fedex express overnight delivery package he never sent.
