Ripoff lottery scam wants money for you to claim prize, sends bad check too!

I received a check for 4850.00. It was from a company called City Capital Finance Inc. They stated that I had won a compensation lottery through the Canadian Lottery. I have never enter the Canadian Lottery to my knowledge.

This is a scam that has been done before only names have changed, amounts are the same. They want me to send them 2850.00 to pay non-resident taxes so I can claim my winnings. I have to send it to a Joy Brown, 120 Minister Road, Ottawa Ontaria, Canada.

I am not stupid so I didn't fall for this scam. I have also reported this to my state's attorney general as I know they prosecute or attempt to prosecute these scams. I also wanted to let others know about this.

Please type in Global Financial in the search bar on this site and see it's the same scam only different names. I just hope I can help others to avoid this costly mistake.
