We hired Kirkland to install a hot water tank in 2008. Hours after their installation, our first floor experienced severe flooding. We contacted the owner to seek a solution but he said that there was nothing he could do for us. He simply stated that our pipes may have been in poor shape; thus they burst and flooding took place. Our home was built in the late 80's and we have never had any plumbing problems prior to Kirkland's installation. Plus, how can Kirkland attribute the problem to have been caused by our pipes if they did not inspect our pipes prior to commencing their work? How does Kirkland know that they were in poor shape? I believe that they did not want to deal with the result of their shoddy work and found this to be the easiest solution - pin it on the consumer's poor pipes and let him deal with the flooding without assuming any responsibility whatsoever.
Since we were left with no other recourse, we proceeded to hire plumbers to deal with the flooding. The plumbers concluded that the cause of the flooding was Kirkland's fault. Kirkland most likely set the water pressure too high and that's what burst our pipes. Company denied any responsibility. We complained to the Better Business Bureau as Kirkland is a member. We filed our complaint in 2008 and only now (February 2010) was the complaint closed. A total waste a year and three months!!! The company dragged the process denying any responsibility and the BBB was equally useless in assisting us to resolve this situation. We hired Kirkland on the basis of their good standing at the BBB but that's the last time we will do that. Even after our complaint, Kirkland still has a A standing. So consumers BEWARE of this company. They will blame YOU, the consumer, if anything goes wrong and if you dare complain to the BBB, they will drag the process for as long as they can - leaving you all alone to deal with the consequences of their actions.
