Sending 4, 800.00 checks from a Thumb Nationaional Bank & Trust Co. are preying on my senior mother with promises of prize money if she sends them money and or information

My mother received an letter from Minder Financial Agencies Inc. from Sydney Nova Scotia, Canada phone 604 773-2548 along with a check for 4, 800.00 by the international sweepstake organization. The 4, 800.00 check they say is to help her pay off taxes. I'm sure their next step is to tell her that they need more money or sensitive personal information to would allow them access to her bank accounts or credit cards.

I wanted to let other unsuspecting seniors know not to answer any of these sweepstakes letters and never send money. If you have to send money to get money something should smell fishy.
