Received suspicious check, .. this check is a FRAUD, Do not cash checks like this - throw this stuff in the trash!

I received a letter telling me I am one of the winners of DE-LOTTO NORTH AMERICAN SWEEPSTAKES LOTTERY ON SHOPPERS. I am entitled to the sum of $125, 000.00 US dollars. With this letter I get a check in the amount of $4, 875.00. I am to use this check to pay $2, 875.00 in taxes to be paid by western union directly to the government tax agent. The letter also urges me to keep this confidential.

I don't know what to do. Did I really win this money? Should I call these people? Should I call the bank the check is from? I admit I'm a little naive so I'd really appreciate some advice. I don't want to do anything illegal, but, I don't want to be so paranoid that I don't collect money I may have won. Looking for answers. Help. I'm feeling a little wet behind the ears if you know what I mean. My Mom always said if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. Thanks
