The letter arrives saying you won $125, 000 from a sweepstakes from North American Shoppers Sweepstakes with a claim number on the letter and a check in the amount of $4, 875 from City Financial Inc located at 1660 Jasper Street Unit B, Aurora, CO 80011 -- check is supposedly from an account with Commerce Bank at 15305 E. Colfax Avenue, Aurora, CO 80011-5987. As a winner, you are to cash the check and send the taxes from your "win" in moneygram or western union form to the "tax agent". Yeah, right.
When I called Carol Armstrong, the claim agent she said I won from a shoppers sweepstakes from JC Penney, Walmart, or any other store. She will not know which because it does not exist. When I questionned her, she got an attitude, so I hung up and said I would investigate her.
Of course, this is a set up to rob you of money and have our bank account information to further commit fraudulent activities.
