I received a letter today 06-10-2008, and an enclosed check in the amount of $4890.00 written to me. The check looked very real, just like a pay check would look like. The letter told me that I had won "$250, 000.00 US DOLLARS" from the "SHOPPERS SWEEPSTAKES" held on April 5th 2008. I was supposed to call 1-416-831-5655 and speak to my "claim agent" for further clarification".''
Well- the first thing I did was do a quick and easy search on the internet including - RIP OFF - and to my surprise I found that many others have received the exact letter and check in the exact amount as I had won- AND another persons' "CLAIM NUMBER" (which is DH/SUL-0011) was the same as mine!
The name at the bottom is LEWIS MCGREGOR and the so called "promotion Manager: is MARY WILLIAMS
Needless to say I DID NOT cash the worthless check or call the number listed.
Usually when I receive letters like this I take a quick look and shred it and toss it. This particular letter and enclosed check looked very legitimate!
