Consumer's Reward Program, Tristar Financials, Coasthills Federal Credit Union
Disgusting scammers should be stopped

I received a check for $3820 yesterday and immediately thought it to be suspect. The letter read that I won a Consumer's Reward Program Lottery, that was held on April 4th 2008. My name was attached to ticket number and this ticket drew the numbers of 3, 11, 14, 20, 25, 26, 37. Which ultimately WON the lottery in the second category. The $3820 was just a small piece of the full winnings of $38, 000. The check I received was to pay A LUXURY TAX.

I immediately started searching the web for Consumers Reward Program, Tristar Financials and CoastHills Federal Credit Union. Well I did find that CoastHills F.C.U. is a real bank based out of California.

What sparked my suspicions was a line in the second paragraph of the letter which reads: "For security reasons, we advise that you keep this award from public notice until your claims have been finalized. This will help us prevent fraud and double claims." Now I find that funny. Thank god I had the good sense to research this. I'm worried about the family's that are struggling so much right now and may not have access to the Internet. They may believe these people and make their financial situation worse.

These scammers need to be caught before they ruin more lives. I would really like to know how they ever got a hold of my information. They could have my credit card info as well for all I know.
