Atlas Worldwide Lottery Commission
Canadian Lottery Scam

My father received a letter from the above-named "lottery commission" congratulating him on being approved for a lump sum payment of $420, 000 to be sent by certified check. Included was a "check" from TNB Worldwide Services for $4, 990 (fake watermarks and all). This was to be used to cover the taxes and processing fees to be paid to "George Anderson Associates" who were also to receive 5% of my father's supposed winnings.

Having been scammed before, I knew this was fake almost immediately but other things that tipped me off were the numerous spelling and grammatical errors in the letter in addition to knowing that my father has never purchased a lottery ticket in his life. The envelope had no return address, only a Canadian stamp and my father's address.

I called "George Anderson Associates" to inform them that they were being reported not only on Canada-Complaints.com but also to our state's attorney general. An heavily-accented (I have no idea what sort) male answered with a muffled hello and when I asked him if this was George Anderson Associates he perked up and asked for my first and last name. When confronted with being reported he attempted to tell me that this wasn't a scam but the more he talked the madder I got and I ended it quickly by telling him that he wouldn't get away with it.
