I recieved a letter in the mail from North Financial Incorporated. It stated that I had won 100, 000 Dollars Inclosed was a check for $4900. The letter said I was to call 1- 416-832-4751 to talk to Mrs Lisa Johnson. I was to then give her my claim # OSA-0555. Then I was to cash the $4900 check & mail her $2985 so they could pay the taxes on the winnings. Then within 48 hours I would have the remaining $95, 100.00. I was lucky to have not cashed the check without investigating the matter first.
After Googling a lot I discovered that the Name on the check The House of the Good Shephard was not located at the address given on the check: 4100 Maple Ave Baltomire MD, 21227. It was listed next to a Seung Ho Cho. Obviously not The House of the Good Shephard.
The check is also fake. The address for the bank listed in the check is supposedly located at:
344 N Charles St.
Suite 300
Baltimore MD, 21227
However noone ever answers the phone at this bank!!!
So the person sending these out is commiting mail fraud, & check fraud. Not to mention the people who deposited the check before make sure it was valid. & then sent in their $2985 for supposed taxes. I would think this would be fraud on the IRS considering they are claim they will send you $2985 to the IRS to pay your lottory taxes.
Please research before you looses money on these scams!!!
