I hired Andrew to build an ecommerce website for me. He came recommended by someone whose design aesthetic I admired.
We had lots of what appeared to be great creative discussion, and we executed an agreement for him to build the site for around $3500. He asked for $1500 upfront. After receiving the deposit he had a series of "emergencies": sick family, girlfriend issues, etc, and kept propmising to deliver. Finally, he disappeared with the deposit.
I contacted the person who referred him to me and he had ripped her off as well in the end; however she had paid with PayPal and got her money back.
I can document this to anyone who likes including the woman who is defending him on this site and appears to be his partner- I have ALL OF THIS documented in email including his promising to refund me and never coming through.
