In looking over my credit card statement, I noticed one of the charges was unfamiliar. I made a mental note to check with my wife about this charge and in reviewing our purchases we decided neither had conducted any business with "WWW.SAFE-CART.COM -NY"
I "Googled" the web address and immediately found over a dozen complaints of fraudulent credit card charges against this same name, "WWW.SAFE-CART.COM -NY".
Further online checks of this web address showed that it apparently belongs to a company named "SafeCart" with its head office in the city of Victoria, British Columbia and located on Vancouver Island, Canada.
I had my credit card company stop payment on the charge. Incidentally, this CC company has a neat, user friendly, online system for handling such disputed charges while they are being investigated.
