Fitness Warehouse
No warranty ripoff business from hell

I bought the machine from the sales manager with the assurance that it was good enough to run on daily. He told me that he would ensure I was "treated right" I took the machine back several times because it would suddenly speed up then quit.

They would need to be called repeatedly to get them to look at it and then I would pick the thing up only to find they had not fixed it. The last 4 times I went to get the treadmill I would run on it at the store only to have it quit, despite them assuring me they had tested it.

I am quite certain the only way it was tested was to turn it on and leave it run with no one on it... I was supposed to have a 5 year warranty but the machine finally failed when the armature burned out in the motor, they asked me to take it and have it checked by an electric motor repair place and again assured me they would make it right what ever it took.

I got the information back the motor was beyond repair. The store manager had his assistant call me and say there was nothing he would do. On one of the occasions I went to pick up the machine the store owner Brian Banerd was there, I was told I would have to pay a service charge of $100.00 for them to fix the thing.

I asked why when it had been there so many times and never was fixed, he called me a liar and we argued as I had letters etc to back my claims. He let me take the machine and I got it home to find out it was still not fixed so I hauled it back the following week. Once the motor failed I attempted to serve the owner with papers to small claims court, the business was registered to a home address in Saskatoon.

The company was numbered and is a holding company. 603663 Saskatchewan LTD #121-515 Kenderdine Rd. Saskatoon. S7N 3S1. I can see from this that they do not want to be easily located or held accountable for the lousy customer service or warranty problems.

I sent a registered letter in an attempt to get them to to court so I could have the complaint answered in a court of law. They refused to sign and accept the registered letter. I decided after 5 years of grief with them to let it drop as I had a lot of other things to deal with too.
