Like some previous users, I also searched for several web based POS system, and after reading the TOP TEN REVIEW, I had decided to give effortless E a try.
I've called them first to get a "feel" of the company, and I was promissed to have the system set up for me, within an hour from signing up with them online and that I would be ready to go on that same day!
So, I did. Signed up online, made a payment with my credit card, and waited... for the whole day... and nothing.
To find on the next day, two emails from them. First email with a subject saying "ACTION REQUIRED - Payment method declined for invoice ####".. with a link attached to this email, to view and make payments.
I clicked on the link attached, and got nowhere, the page had an error, so I was not sure, what was happening at first, because my credit card had gone through during the sign up.
Then I got another email with the subject saying " New effortlessE Invoice Number #### due 2011-4-10"... and again with a link to view a make payments.
and again the link attached did not work, so I was unabble to view the invoice. I was also not able to contact them over the phone, because their office our was restrict to weekdays, and that was a weekend.
SO, I could not figure out what was happening, rather my payment had gone through or not.
But given the subjects on both email, I had assumed that they didn't receive the payment, and so that was the reason why, I didn't have the system set up for me.
So I started to search for another WEB based pos system, since, this one, was giving me so much trouble.
Then I found another company (MERCHANTOS)... no set up fees, free trial, with much better customer service, as they set me up right a way from siging up (ON SATURDAY! ), I was REALLY ready to go. and it didn't take more than 15 minutes, and their support replied to me when I had questions..and all that in one day!
The following day (Sunday), I signed up on Friday, got two emails from Effortless on Saturday, and then ONLY on Sunday I receive another email from them with a subject "Access to your new webPOS system".
By now, I was really confuse about the status of my "signing up" with this company. So went through their set up, and ONLY then I was able to see the link they've sent me (wich was basically their ticket)...to find out then, that my card did go through, and that I was charged.
So I called them to cancel my account and I wanted a refund, because I figure, if I had so much trouble setting up, and getting started, imagine later down the road. But their customer service was the WORST I have ever had to deal with, they did not want to refund the amount charged, even though they've confused me with the emails and waisted my time and money. They've charged me $199, 17 dollars for a program and a service that I do NOT WISH to use.
I've called them 4 times, and explained what happened, and all they could say, was that maybe my internet provider had delayed my emails. Funny enough, I did receive emails from Merchantos and everybody else on time! and I received their emails over the course of 3 days!
They've asked me to give a try, but had now seen how other program works, effortless e is FAR FROM BEING the best software on the market, plus they ARE DEFINITELY NOT THERE TO HELP YOU! DEFINITELY NOT!
