I purchased a Nikon coolpix model 2200 on July the 29th 2004 from Central Distributors at 350 Des Erables Lachine Quebec h8s 2p9 for a sum of $244.00. I went on vacation and used the camera maybe 3 or 4 times when I noticed the lcd screen was damaged. I returned to Central Distributors with the camera on August the 7th for repair or replacement. They sent the camera to Royal Photo who in turn sent it to Nikon Canada. I waited one month and started calling for information about the camera. It took until September the 20th to find out that the camera according to Nikon was not worth repairing... and if I wanted to I could buy another camera for $216.00 tax...
I said are you kidding. First of all if the saleman at Central would have told me that if I had damaged the lcd screen of the camera it would not been repaired since the value of the repair is greater than the value of the camera! I would have not bought it to begin with... And Nikon as a company should be distributing these type of cameras with a warning message to the consumer... I just through my money away...
