I worked there as a line cook and dish washer. First off I would not recommend eating there due to the fact I got the chance to see the type of people who were cooking my food. They were simply disgusting. I don't eat at Earl's anyways, but when I was working there to make money to pay my car off, i did take a lot of shit. I remember when i got really sick once, and I called in to work. Upon doing so, and upon calling in sick... the Manager decided to fire me. When I came to get my last cheque and my tips... I was told by the kitchen manager that "We don't have to give you your tips." Therefore I was never issued my tips so I had to sue in Small Claims court.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO CAUTION YOU ON MORE... WORKING FOR THIS PLACE, OR EATING AT IT.!!! BE VERY CAUTIOUS WITH YOUR TIPS AND DO NOT PISS OFF THE BOSS, FOR THEY HAVE THE POWER TO JUST FIRE YOU AND TAKE YOUR TIPS...
IF THAT SHOULD OCCUR. CONTACT YOUR EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS OFFICE RIGHT AWAY, AND IF IT DOES NOT GET WORKED OUT THROUGH THAT, THEN FILE A SMALL CLAIMS ACTION AGAINST THE COMPANY RIGHT AWAY. IF YOU MAKE LOWER THAN A CERTAIN AMOUNT, YOU ARE QUALIFIED FOR A WAIVER AND YOU CAN PAY A SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER COST. IF YOU DO DECIDE TO GO THE LEGAL WAY. MAKES SURE YOU ACT WITHIN THE APPROPRIATE TIME PERIOD.
