On May 4th, we received a letter from R.I.B.C. Financial Services claiming we were one of the winners in the Compensation Lottery Draw A for all the leading stores in Canada and the U.S. (They must have lots of money as there are multiple "winners" according to other canada-complaints.com.)
"An entry slip with the serial #446755 was attached to your name and drew the lucky winning numbers 44-87-69-05. " Enclosed was a legitimate looking check in the amount of $4710.00 of which would be used to pay the taxes of $3, 820.00 that would be sent via "Money Gram" to a "tax agent" (name was listed) at 90 Alston Road in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada after contacting them.
The "claims agent's" name was also listed. It was signed by the promotions manager (a different individua).
