ATHLON LENDING INSTITUTE IS A FRAUD!!! I recently attempted to take out a loan with this Canadian company and I am GLAD I didn't go through with it. They first had me fax in a copy of my car title, and luckily I had a smart friend who told me to put sticky notes all over it so the "lending" company could not duplicate it.
That went through fine and I was almost done with the process when they told me that there was a $400 processing fee, and that I should send them the money through Western Union. I thought this was a bit odd so I called up the Western Union customer service number. Thank god for this bank because they told me in no uncertain terms NOT to send them the money. Apparently it is ILLEGAL for a company to ask for money in advance when dealing with loans, in both this country AND in Canada. I have left a couple of messages and *shocker* I have not received any calls back.
To sum it up DO NOT SEND ANYTHING TO THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY!!!
