Same scam as the others...
real authentic check sent in the amount of 4875.00. check drawn on Union Financial Securities and Trust. The letterhead states Union Financial Securities & Trust, International Claims Department, 285 Bay St, Toronto Ontario MSG-2N7, Canada. Two bank addresses on the check are: Union Financial Securities and Trust, PO box 100, Olney, IL 62450 and First National Bank in Olney, Main Street, Box 3, Ingraham, IL 62434. The check amount that I was given was 4875.00 and the check number was 17070. The amount that was requested to be sent to Western Union or Moneygram was $2875. The check was dated 6/26/08 and the letter was dated 6/25/08.
The letter claimed that Mr. Robert Smith was the claims/disbursement manager and his direct line was 1-647-836-0841. The letter was signed by Bryan Mcdonald, President. Supposedly, I was one of the declared winners of the DE-Lotto North American Sweepstakes Lotrry held on April 15, 2008 in the 2nd category. I was entitled to $125, 000 and there were 32 other declared winners for a total prize of $4 million US dollars. A claim number was given.
Although the check looks authentic, the letter is cheesy and should alert you to the fact that this is fake.
