After getting the run around with Wells Fargo for a few months we had been contacted by Town and Country Credit re a refinance. I gave them the information and told them to hold it because we weren't done with Wells Fargo yet.
A few weeks later I was contacted by Ameriquest and they had all of my information for some reason. They said they could get it done quick and that we would have our money soon. The customer service was wonderful and they even had the closer come to our house to close the refi/home equity loan.
About a half hour before the closer was to arrive our loan officer called to let us know that "unfortunately" his manager was requiring him to add $1000 on to the closing costs because he hadn't charged us enough and they wouldn't make anything on it. I was pissed! But what do you do? Wells Fargo had run about 5 credit reports on us and at this point we were looking at our last chance because after so many requisitions you get denied just for that. I talked to my husband and and we decided that we would do it anyway. We had a lot of plans for that money for remodeling on our house and paying off other bills.
Anyways, this was the 20th of the month. They "didn't notice" that we had an FHA loan and that it needed to be paid off by the first of the month in order to avoid having to pay the interest for that month. So, anyways we had to pay them and our previous Mortgage company payments that month.
When I called them I got the run around for over a month. I had to talk to this person or that person and finally I just kept asking for everyone's supervisor and got a check from them. They owed us $1032.00 for the interest on the previous loan but of course we got a check for $1000. because they decided to round it down.
The only positive thing that I can say is that they don't charge mortgage interest so it saves us $70.00 per month and I get to pay my payments online.
