During the course of my regular monitoring of my credit history, I noticed a 'soft' credit inquiry by BSC into my personal credit on Equifax (credit bureau). I have never heard of these people before; never received a letter from them; and cannot understand how anyone can make a credit inquiry without my written permission (like buying a car, home, opening a credit card, etc).
Sounds to me these guys are hunting for people with good credit that they believe can pay for some fraudulent request (like Just Energy, Direct Energy or Bell).
Is there any way to get these credit bureaus (Equifax, Trans Union or Experion) to NOT allow these kind of organizations to request our personal information? Any insight would be great.
