I am writing to report a company that chooses to run its business operations in an unethical manner. This company is called Cornerstone Career Partners.
The company is a an career advisor / executive recruiter firm located in Oakeville, ON and the owner and President is John Gardner.
John Gardner's tactics are quite similar to those of a used car sales man. He pretty much guilted, manipulated and lied to me to get me to pay him 5000 up front for his "services" which included a skills analysis, career path analysis and guidance and a supposed large database of jobs unique to Cornerstone and its clients.
As it turns out, the skills analysis was lackluster and comprised of a free web based test which performs a very crude (and inacurate) analysis of myself. I had a career advisor who pretty much read out of a script and wasted 3 expensive sessions with me getting me to write my own resume and telling me how i was just kidding myself and my expectations were too high.
I was already @ a well paying job so I was really disappointed to be told that I had wasted 10K (5000 up front) on this service that could not better my position.
After several attempts to get my money back, i have been, ducked and dodged by Mr. Garnder who seems to just vanish into thin air.
I will pay the office one more visit, and if I still can not get a definite answer I will seek other solutions
