I also recieved a letter claiming I won $85, 500 in a British Lotto. I recieved a check for $2, 996.80 to cover international clearance fees. The letter looks like it could be real and the check definateley looks real.

The letter was dated July 20, 2006 and the check July 18, 2006. The letter said you had to claim the prize no later than August 10, 2006 when I received the letter August 1, 2006.

The letter very easily convinces you and the check too. My cousin told me to check out information. Found alot of web sites where people claimed the same stuff.

I wouldn't have done anything with the check without calling the BBB or police or news station, but I can see how people can be suckered. the whole thing is co convinceing. Just surprised they haven't been caught yet!
