This is the way the scam works.
Tsr: John, John we're calling to REMOVE your checking account number from the computer system. Do you have your checkbook handy?
Victim: Who is this
TSR: It's the National Verification Office
Victim: Hold on a minute.
When the tsr gets the checking account number he says the following.
TSR: We see here that you're a qualified bank member so you qualify to receive the American Benefits Group package for a one time lifetime fee of 400$ to help you pay for all your medical needs.
Victim: I don't want anything
Tsr: This isn't for everyone, we'll just send you some pamphlets. I'm just going to transfer you to my verification officer to complete the removal of your checking account number from the computer system. Please hold.
The verification process is taped and the victim is told to say yes to have his or her checking account number removed from the computer system, but is actually agreeing to buy a 400$ package.
