Lead me to believe i had won some money, but i took it to the bank and talk to my angent and they said it was a joke

I was leat to beleive i had win some money but i knowed better than to give out any information, it realy got my hopes up so i called the cops, the said it was a rip of, i ask them to check it out and put a stop to this but they didnt care, how can we stop this/?
