This is a little more information about the typical mystery shopper scam.
They sent me a money order to shop at WalMart to give the rating company a report regarding purchases AND the quality of service at the MoneyGram service counter.
They sent me a USPO Postal Money Order for $730. I was to cash it and use it to 1) shop, 2) send a $485 money gram to a Vincent Syrette in British Comubia, and 3) keep $220 for my fee. I assume they change the names all the time.
What I haven't seen in prior reports is how GOOD the counterfeit Postal Money Order is. I took it to Chase Bank to see if the Money Order was good. They called the Post Office and verified as we suspected that the money order was counterfeit. The Controller at Chase said that it is a very, very good counterfeit money order. Most tellers would easily accept them. She kept the original and sent it to the post office.
Beware of USPO Postal Money orders.
