Since arriving back in Calgary last year I've visited the bottle depot 6 times, at 3 different locations. Every single time I count the value and every single time the bottle depot claims that I'm returning less than what I've counted.
This last time I had counted 8.55 cents in returns, I even found 3 cans on the way, so I should have gotten $8.85 cents back.
After a lady at the bottle depot had counted the returns I went to the cashout and got back $7.75 back.
The lady's numbers were obviously wrong as my roommate had counted with me as well, we recounted 3 times, given that we've both noticed this skimming, before proceeding to the bottle depot to get our refund.
Next time we will be posting a rebuttal on this with video taped counts, so that we can catch them red handed because I am sick of getting ripped off by these people.
Count your stuff before going to the bottle depot they are scammers.
