RDG Careers
, Stacey Friendly Ripoff Scammers! Toronto

Everything previous posters has said about RDG career scammers is true.

Guess they found my CV through Monster. I thought they were a placement agency so agreed to a 1st interview with Stacey Friendly... she was extremely condescending and made it sound like she was doing YOU a favour by agreeing to be seen by them. She was very evasive about how they made their money. They offered such services as sprucing up your CV, help with your negotiating skills, get your foot through the door by bypassing the HR dept and setting you up to see the Managers hiring. Most job requests go through HR for most major companies unless you have an in with a manager or VP. She is full of crap and doesn't know anything about hiring procedures with HR! As well, she said they could get me more money salary wise for a FT job by cutting out the recruiting fees... by doing this the fee would be absorbed into a higher salary for you the jobseeker! What a con! Offices were very sterile and interview rooms looked pretty empty with no available literature on the company.

With real recruiters, they send you a job description that you may be suitable for with the compensation. RDG said they had a network of contacts they have cultivated over the years. When I asked what type of clients/companies she had dealt with, she wouldn't get into it with me but would in the "2nd interview". When I said I would think about coming back, she said why not book an appt now and was very pushy, made you feel like you were missing out on a great opportunity! Yeah, the great opportunity of being parted with my hard earned cash!!! She even went as far as stating there could be an appropriate payment scheme for their services if you didn't have the money right away! I went along with the next appt booking where fees were to be discussed and never showed up! Sorry, can't suck me in RDG, think I was born yesterday??? NO legit recruiter/career/placement firm asks for money up front! You can get good career counselling, advice on CVs, etc... through approved gov't agencies at the HRDC or Woodgreen Employment Counselling.

Walking out I noticed that most of the people in the waiting room were those of colour, and what appeared to be mainly new immigrants. Please be careful fellow job hunters and do not part with your money for these types of scammers! Can not believe they prey on vulnerable job seekers... Stacey and the rest of the gang of thieves should be ashamed of themselves and reported!
