I received a Winning Final Notification stating I was a winnner in the North Mega Sweepstakes with a serial and winning number.
I called the number provided for Bill Hensley and he answered right away. He asked me to wait a minute then the busy beep started. I called agains and the same thing happened. On the third and fourth calls I received a message that there was no more room for messages.
I examined the check, issued on a bank with whom I do business and it appeared legitimate. Three things raised the alarms for me.
The first was the actions of Bill hensley when I called. He was obviously at home as I heard a dog in the background and children. He also muted the phone both times I called and he picked up and then disconnected. Then after twice answering the phone himself he switched on an answering machine.
The second was the signature on the form letter of laura Morgan, Promotions Manager. Even though it is illegible it is obviously not even remotely comparable to the name Laura Morgan.
The Third was that the check was drawn on the bank from which my credit card is issued and that was just to much of a coincidence for me. Especially since I have received checks from that particular establichment and they do not look anything like this check.
So, I researched it online and discovered that the only references to PowerPoint Financial, was in the Scam reporting. Hence this additional report regarding same.
