RTS Investments
Employee etiquette ripoff

Having trouble finding RTS Investments?

Try KOC Investments. That is the name the company was using when I once worked for them (KOC stands for Kirby of Canada). In fact I just did a search using that name and found their listings in a number of phone directories.

Yes I am sorry to say that I had once worked for this company. These guys are not just sly in their sales pitches, but in their recruiting as well. Don't think that the employees are immune to the tacticts of a pushing sales pitch. When hired, you are offered a large "performance guarantee" that you will receive if you fail to make any sales. And if you do make sales you are told that you will make large amounts of money with the possibility of even $10, 000 in one month alone. As well, there are bonuses for making a certain number of sales, contests, prizes, trips, and many other perks to snag as many people as possible.

All for the price of lowering your morals.

Free training is offered to all of the lucky recruits who make it past the initial interview. However, they don't tell you that they will be cutting people before they have finished the training program. They make it sound as if you are guaranteed the possition. In the training we learn a little about the heirarchy of the company. You see, usually the person that comes to your door is on the lowest rung of the corporate ladder. The person who actually sells the vacuum is known as a "manager trainee" and if the vacuum is sold for the full price this person will make $400.00 from the sale. Any money knocked of the full price comes out of this person's commission.

The next in line is the "manager" they train the manager trainee and for their trouble make about $200.00 from the trainee's sale (even though the most they ever do is drop the trainee off)

I shouldn't say that the manager never teaches any lessons. I did learn that these sales professionals prey on a certain part of the population, and usually target them or will walk in with a smile because they know that this will be an easy sale. Their favourite victims are people in mobile or modular homes, the elderly, new or young parents, wives whose husbands are not home, and single men.

Their tacticts are very pushy. My only advise is to be persistent in with your "NO". Find ways to be distracted (have something else in the home that requires some attention). I am not saying that you should not allow these people into your home (after all, it is nice to have someone else clean for you) but realize that they will be using scare tactics warning of disease and disgustingly filthy dirt in your home (but we've managed to live with it this long and we have only had vacuums for about 100 years).

I wish I had two weeks to tell you all the stories and experiences I had during my two-week employment (which I recieved no pay for by the way) but there may not be enough room on this site. Just be wary of the next person offering something "free" on your doorstep
