This is a very well done fraud designed to prey on the hope of unwary people.
My bank informed me that they've already opened a file of customers who have fallen prey to this scam. Fortunatly, thanks to the posts on this site, I am not one of those people.
I was advised by my bank to file a report with the local police department. They informed me that the FBI is actually handling this scam, due to the "across borders" nature.
If you have recieved one of these letters informing you you've won 45, 000 dollars, with a realistic looking check enclosed, PLEASE contact the local police department.
