During summer 08, i applied for admission at University of Lethbridge (U of Leth). I got accepted. I talked to someone in U of Leth, and told them that I lived far from here and might not be able to attend. I was told that I could withdraw from courses anytime and she encouraged me to register right away. and pay some $75 for administration fees. She also told me that if i didn't submit some documents and completed some test I would be automatically withdrawn from courses. With her help I registered for courses. After that all, I decided to not go to U of Leth (thus, i assumed that not fulfilling the requirements I will be automatically withdrawn) and go to a nearby college.
Now after 4 months I got bill for $800, because I didnt attend university. I called them up, they told me that when i registered for courses, I automatically accepted to pay for them. I called the Ministry of Education and they told me that they could do much as the universtiy makes their own rules.
They send me TWO letters saying that i need to submit my documents. I just ignored them as i didn't intend to attend. They claim that they send me a letter stating that I had to drop out myself or i will get charged for it;But i never received that letter. They made NO calls, or nothing to inform me about the charges.
