Yesterday I found out that VFC Inc. has charged me $700 in fees for not sending in an updated copy of my Insurance policy. I was told that I was charged a $100 a month fee for not sending in a copy of the policy. They stated that in was in the fine print of my contract. I reviewed the contract and found it that it stated "if the policy expired, was amended or cancelled that I would be charged a $75 a month fee".???
1) I never allowed my policy to expire, be canceled or amended, I just didn't send in a copy of this years form of a fully up to date and active policy
2) Even if I had allowed one of these things to happen, WHICH I DIDN'T, How did the fee go from $75 a month to $100
I sent a letter "to a manager" asking for and explanation of the charge and for the fees to be reversed. I received an email back for a customer service rep. saying the they would waive $300 of the fees but I need to make arrangement to pay the remaining $400 and no explanation of the charge was given.
I attempted to call in and speak to a manager but was advised to call back as all the managers where busy. I demanded that a manager call me back but as of now I still have had no response.
I have had an account with VFC Inc. for over two years now; I have never missed a payment or asked for a deferment. If this is what they do to a good customer I can't imagine how they treat their customers whom are having problems paying.
I am current trying to get a loan else where as I wish to have no further dealings with these types of "people".
If you are thinking of getting a loan with VFC Inc. please think twice about it. As they seem to feel that the over $10, 000 in interest that they will make on my account in the next 5 years is not sufficent enough to pad their bottom line.
