I am an avid watch collector and recently moved to Edmonton for work. To begin, Edmonton is not an international city with too many high end luxury watch retailers. Having seen a Gemoro billboard on the city streets, I went into their lower level store in West Edmonton Mall only to be greeted by rude stares from a black haired and blonde haired sales woman. After receiving their glances, being ignored, I noticed a young dark haired salesman across the counter eyed the Breitling for Bentley on my wrist and came over to ask what he could do for me. I told him that I was looking for a gold rolex GMT. He was rude, not helpful, scoffed at me, and walked away. I was completely caught off guard by his attitude and behavior. Having purchased over a dozen watches from Blancpain to Zenith, I have never been so belittled until I stepped into Gemoro. Having done a great deal of research on the Rolex on watch forums and talking to GMT owners, I expected to pay a certain price. I talked to the watchmaker who made himself available to me after 18 minutes of waiting. He then proceeded to dismiss me after I asked him some questions on cash pricing. The following week after talking to colleagues at work about recommending to me an AD's in Edmonton for Rolex watches. They pointed me to Swedish Jewelers across from Holt in downtown and also Independent Jewelers that re-sell used Rolex's. I wanted all new and I had a specific model in mind so I proceeded to Swedish, was warmly greeted by a grey haired salesman and they beat my price expectation for the gold Rolex GMT PLUS they gave me a free gift. Wow! I was really taken away with their level of customer service, professionalism, and friendliness. The one thing that I wasn't so fond of was looking for a parking space but the entire shopping experience was very pleasurable. Gemoro staff is unprofessional, rude, dismissive, and uninformed on product lineups. Gemoro will never see my business or my presence ever again nor will I ever recommend them to anybody.
