CopyDVDPro
Ripoff conware scam advertiser disguised resellter of out of date crap software

The following is a story about how I was ripped off by an scam company when shopping online. Hope the next unsuspicious online shopper take the lessons not to fall in the same trap again.

I bought the software unsuspected thinking that copydvdpro.com is just another small company selling specialized software online. What I didn't realize was that it was actually a disguised reseller of an out-dated third party software CopyToDVD, for burning DVD, by a french company called VSO. On its homepage, the company falsely advertised that CopyToDVD was a free bonus with a retail price of $39. But as it lately admitted to me, this crappy CopyToDVD was really the main product the company wanted to sell to me as an unsuspicious buyer.

On evaluation, it turned out that CopyToDVD did not do even one of the most basic tasks: making disk copies, which every disk burning software on the market does. The performance and the quality of the software is below the par and should have a long way to go to gain a competitive position against the mainstream software on the market, such as Sonic's RecordNow, NTI's DVD Maker, and the famous Nero Burning ROM.

True, these software are selling at a higher retail price. However, for every DVD writer/burner sold on the market recently, it came bundled with an OEM version of one of these software. So the real crookness here is that the company knew very well that your computer already had got the necessary software but still it sold you this redundant software CopyTODVD for $29 regardless. It did this by taking the advatange that you didn't know what was in the company's package until you have hitting the "buy" buttom to transfer your money online to the company's bank account.

I emailed the company to tell them I wanted my money back. The company replied a ton of nicely worded, but completely wasteful emails straying away to talk about all kinds of irrelevant things from giving me yet another sales pitch to volunterring to help debug the software. This company appeared to be well prepared to deal with unsatisfactory customers and determined to marathon with until they gave up.

Soon it became clear to me that there weren't many choices for me. Unless I am willing to continue to waste my time maraton with the company, the best I could do would be to stop email and let the scammer take my money, which I did.

The scam company won.
