Westminster Consumer Services - Investment And Financial Brokers
Ripoff contest winning scam

I was sent a letter with the subject: Contest winning notification/ Check enclosed ($3, 845.16). It went on saying there was to be a total payout of $120, 000. First, I must I put the $3, 845.16 in an account, wait for it to become available then wire the money to the addresses they will give me once the money is available.

The thing is, instead of putting it in a current account, I opened a new account which made the wait a week rather than 24-72 hours. After a week, I called the number on the letter and told them the money was available. They gave me instructions to wire the money by using moneygram or western union to 2 addresses, whichever I preferred.

I actually couldn't go to a western union or moneygram that day because it was already pretty late. So I ended calling and telling them I wouldn't be able to go that night and I'd be waiting for the next day. He became angry, and started rambling about how its been a long day and that I was his last call, and that I should go first thing in the morning so that the $120, 000 would be mailed by UPS around 6 p.m. the next night.

Instead I went to my bank, told them I had a feeling that the check I had deposited was bad. I told them the whole story and showed them the letter.
The bank looked up the check I had deposited and it showed that it had bounced.

If I hadn't opened a new account I probably wouldn't had that extra time to think about what was actually going on. Hopefully this helps someone out there.

Here are the addresses they gave to me to wire the money to:

Maurier Toutere
4259 Vervun Drive
Montreal, Q.C. Canada G3HZK4

Arrtt Invieny
1211 Seggy Drive
College Park, Atlanta Georgia 38520

These are also the names on the letter and the person I was speaking to:
Anita B. Robert, Marcia Griffin
(Unfortunately I didn't get the name of the last person I was talking to.)
