Recently I received a call from Alexis, a representative of Brisko Investment. She took some information for a loan I applied to. First, the phone system she was useing made it difficult to hear her. Second, she never provided me with a phone number to contact her or her company directly. Third, the phone number was blocked from my caller i.d.
After two days had passed I received another call from Brisko, this time it was another representative, Catherine Brooks. She had to leave a message since I was not home. She left her number; upon my return phone call I was not able to reach a live person, it was completely automated. I left a message and followed the prompts.
Finally, Ms. Brooks returned my call, at which time she proceeded to tell me that because of my credit history, I would have to pay three months in advance prior to me receiving the loan, and the interest rate would be 7.9. At this point Ms. Brooks became very agressive and tried to get a definite yes or no from me. I explained that I needed to think about it and hung up.
After careful consideration I decided to call her back and ask to her to send me the documents so I can review them-prior to agreeing to a loan. Once again I had to go through the automated system, it asked, 'who's calling? '; once I gave my name, I was transferred to another line and had to wait for a live person. Finally, a live person. I asked for Ms. Brooks and was transferred yet again.
Once I reached Ms. Brooks, I asked if she would fax me a copy of the loan agreement so I may review it. Unfortunately, she would only fax the documents if I agreed to the loan, and even then I would have to fax her my personal information; such as, copy of id's, social security card, and recent pay stub.
I do not know for a fact that this company is a rip off but I do know that any reputable company would send me the loan agreement for review!!
