I was recently sent on a job assignment to a company called Burlington Technologies. They are a C.A.W. union shop. I worked 12 hour continental shifts without missing a minute of work and performing my job better than most. I was to become a union member after working 540 hours. With about 2-3 weeks to go until i reached that goal i was let go, the reason given was job performance. I contacted my supervisor and he was not very happy at all with that, so both he and my lead hand went to the HR dep't and asked them why his top performer was let go. After that meeting my supervisor called me and i was told that i was reinstated, i figured that was the end of it and returned to work. Not so, with two shifts to go before being unionized Pivotal called me and told me that my shifts had been changed, i told them that i would report to work on my new shift thinking that all was OK.Two hours later they called me back and i was told, and i quote "Ken you don't have to worry about changing shifts because i called the company and they do not want you to report to work at all". I have since learned that both the company and the agency have a standing practice of rotating poeple in and then rotating them out just shy of gaining union status. This sure smells like collusion to me. This practice is ethically and morally wrong and if not illegal it should be. Thank You Ken H Wilson.
