Somerset Universal Sweepstakes
Ripoff

I was sent a letter and check via US Postal Service from Somerset Universal Sweepstakes.

This letter stated it was an award notification that I had drawed a sharing of a winnings totalling $98, 000. The letter included a check for $3, 920 from AmSouthern Bank. The letter stated that this check is deducted from the winnings in order to pay processing and clearance fees before I can be rewarded the lump sum.

I took this check to my bank manager with the letter of which both of us was very skeptical of. She called the fraud department of Chase Bank where I do my banking to find it was a fraud. Thank goodness for a bank like Chase that will do this for thier customers. Some banks will except the check then charge you for fees when this check bounces.

The letter states that it is partnered with Lotto, Publishers Clearing House, Readers Digest, Sweepstakes and Internet Casino.

I have got numberous letters claiming I have won different amounts as well all asking me to send a check from $9.95 to $21.95 for a report on my winnings. These are actually legal ripoffs as they stipulate in the small print their not responcible or affilated with your sweepstakes entry but are selling you a report. This sorry to say meets legal standards even though they are misleading.

Be very carefull. As the saying goes if it looks to good to be true it is.
