I Ordered from Bloomex on April 14, 2008 a Spray arrangement of flowers for my Grandmothers funeral for April 15, 2008.
When I arrived at the funeral home and looked at the arrangment the specific flowers I had ordered were not there. I asked to change the Orange Lilies to Yellow Lilies, not one Lily was in this arrangement, not even an orange one. I asked for all the other red or orange flowers to be changed to white carnations and not a carnation was in the arrangement only 4 medium size white daisy like flowers. I also asked them to change the red roses to pink roses and there were 6 red very limp almost black roses and the rest of the arrangement was filled in with babies breath and ferns it was quite pitiful to say the least.
They charged me close to $100.00 for 10 flowers, and a bunch of babies breath and ferns, it was so pitiful compared to all the other arrangements that just turned red from embarrassement and my first thought was how could anyone with any pride let this out of their store. I was ashamed that my name was on the card which wasn't a florist card but a large sympathy card. My grandfather being a man of few words and to the point when he does speak said they were pitiful and these were from her grandchildren.
The sad thing about it too was that the following day they hardly made it to the church service in once piece because there it lay on the floor by the alter looking like a pile of dying flowers. "They did not make it to the grave site".
They had the nerve when I emailed them on the 19th about what had just happened and they asked me if I wanted my money back due to their policy that I would have to return the flowers to them as proof, this was 10 days after the fact. I have in the mean time written all the bloomex companies in Canada just to inform each of them how their Montreal store is being run and how this will affect the reputation of the others, (but I think they are all being run with the same ethics). I also told them to keep the money this has been a lesson learned and that anyone who runs a business like them and calls that a business is going to fail big time. I told them in the letter that they are scammers and that when they go under I will be cheering with the rest of the people they have scammed and jerked around.
