DO NOT GET ANY Aventura credit card!!!
This credit card is a complete scam. I pay $120 a year fee for apparent travel medical, cancellation/interruption, and baggage insurance... thought i was safe if I booked %100 percent of my trip on my credit card as outlined in the terms...
Well I left November 7 from Canada for a leisure trip to the phillipines. I am sure everyone is aware that the worst typhoon to ever hit land struck the phillipines November 8. I called my travel insurance right away as I had some internal flights in the phillipines booked, as well as after I landed I had to take a flight out of manila elsewhere seeing as how my planned destinations were in dire conditions. I wanted my money reimbursed for my internal flights. BUT seeing as how the government website states "exercise a high degree of caution" and "advise against non essential travel to effected areas" I was screwed. The insurance company said the website needed to say "avoid all travel". I explained I did not want to go to areas with no communication, thousands dead, no access to medical, crime and looting, no electricity, debris everywhere, military police state, and a complete disaster. They still refused to open a claim for me. I am so astonished that a unforeseen natural disaster hit, and I get no coverage, what good is this travel insurance then and why am I paying $120 a year for it?
This is the worst credit card don't waste your time with the pretend perks, go for the credit card with no fee so you don't waste your money and have a false sense of security.
