I ve been a freelancer now for over 13 years. I ve created my own my small business called "Marketing Sur Mesure . I ve been working as a marketing consultant and marketing researcher. I m pretty proud of having been an independent worker for so long! Based in Montreal, I have helped businesses on a variety of mandates and projects. In recent years, I ve become more and more interested in webdigital marketing. Lucky for me, I ve had the privilege of working on different web related marketing projects. To that end, I invested in my education and completed a Certificate in e-marketing with the Canadian Marketing Association. I ve been a focus group moderator since 2001. I love this type of work. I ve had the privilege of working with very well know marketing firms such as SOM recherche, SCOR recherche marketing , MIRE recherche marketing , Altitude Marketing, Compas and others. I took part in different training sessions with the Marketing Research and Intelligence Association such as the Focus Group Moderator Training and the In-debt interviews training session called Getting Beneath the Surface . I regularly attend MRIA events. I m originally from New-Brunswick. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the Université de Moncton. . I also studied in France at the Université de Poitiers (languages) and at the University of Southwestern Louisiana (humanities studies). In 1984, I moved to Ottawa and began a 10 year career with the federal government. I spent the last six years with the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development (DIAND). I greatly enjoyed my experience with DIAND. I travelled all across Canada and elsewhere such as in Greenland . I visited beautiful communities that very few people know of, in remote northern regions of several provinces. I was mostly involved in issues that relate to social policy development (education, social services), specific land claims policy and regional First Nations issues for Ontario and the Atlantic. This experience enabled me to gain a better understanding of the complexity of the relationship between the governments and First Nations and to see firsthand how profoundly rich aboriginal culture and history are. In 1994, I made an important life change. I decided to make one of my dreams come true and became an independent worker. I went back to school at the Université du Québec Г Montréal where I completed my schoolwork under the Masters in Sociology program. I really enjoyed studying in sociology. I particularly appreciated Stephen Schecter courses on policital sociology. I am grateful for having done theses studies even though I didn t complete the program. It was a great decision to go back to school. The love of work caught up with me. During my studies, I had the opportunity to get involved in the business community and found my way to becoming a freelancer.
