Over 60 years ago, Raymond Brodeur discovered the promotional item market and made his first sale in this field. The idea of presenting a gift to someone to show appreciation was interesting enough, but then you put your company name on the item and the value of the gift is then tenfold. From that moment he dedicates his life to product giveaways. After gaining experience in this field he founded Busrel in 1959 and in the beginning the company specialized in importing lighters directly from overseas. Ion 1960 speciality advertising wholesalers asked to distribute some of he products that he was importing and in 1961 he added many more products, acquired printing equipment and started storing goods and printing them on site. Before long he hired employees and the space he had became too small and new premises were found. In 1969 80% of the products were printed in the far east and then in 1978 80% was printed on site in Montreal In the early 90 ’s there is a significant investment in machinery, technology and the hiring of new personnel to help in the development of products suitable for Busrel ’s promotional items. In the 1990 ’s and 2000 ’s Busrel has won many prestigious awards as a leading supplier of promotional products in the Canadian industry. In 1997 Busrel moved into a 57,000 sq. Foot facility that could meet the growing demand for their promotional products. Busrel continues to innovate and now offers laser engraving no metal and wood objects. In the year 2000 Busrel enters the U.S. market and its market penetration increases over the years. Over the years the company continues to improve customer service as well as the re development and working methods of our overseas facilities. In 2008 Busrel decides to shift into « green mode » and goes completely electric and becomes almost paper free in the everyday running of the office. That year Busrel also won the prestigious “best innovative product ” Golden Image Award from the PPPC. To further their “Green thinking ” Busrel offers rebates to employees who purchase Eco vehicles as well as rebates to all employees who use public transit to get to work. Kaisen has given our workshop the tools necessary to improve customer service and the selling of Busrel products. The rate of customer service is constantly growing because of production now eliminating wasted time and therefore improving the production of products. In 2009 Busrel celebrated its 50th anniversary by offering 24hr shipping service at no extra charge on all products in our catalogue with one colour imprint. In 2009 hold its “green eco ” contest with first prize being the futuristic Chevrolet volt electric car. Each month as well a draw is held and an electric bicycle is given to the lucky winner who had his ticket picked. The contest end in Dec 2010 and the draw will take place at the PPPC show in Toronto Jan 2011 On June 8 2010 Busrel continues to be innovative with its interactive website with information available in real time so distributors can acquire information at any time.
