I looked for a restaurant that served both vegetarian and more general fare since I expected to return with a colleague who I was sure was not a vegetarian. I was very pleased with the food and indeed did return twice (the next two nights). I enjoyed the food each night and the people were very nice, giving us excellent directions to the train station when I needed to drop off my colleague for his train to Ottawa. The brie in puff pastry was perfectly golden and accompanied by a unique and delicious berry sauce. My rib eye was cooked perfectly and I loved the roasted mushrooms it came with. I have eaten at many places throughout Ontario and I must say that Windmills Cafe Is simply the best. The Entrees are presented beautifully and the aroma is divine. The entree I enjoyed was the N.Y. Strip loin, priced at 23- it was well worth the price. I have paid as much as 42- for the same meal elsewhere and I can say I was not as full as I was when I ate at Windmills Cafe in Kingston Ontario. The service staff were attentive, pleasantly talkative (though not too much so) and the atmosphere was simply delightful. The next time I return to Kingston, Ont. I will be enjoying another meal at Ontario s best Fine Dining Establishment. Kudos to the Staff! By Phillip Some friends and I were in Kingston celebrating Queen s University s. During the day we were deliberation on where to go, and more importantly where could we possibly get a reservation. Windmills Cafe turned not only accepted a last minute reservation but provided us with what was easily the best dining experience I ve ever had. The Beef Tenderloin tower was cooked to perfection, and was complemented perfectly by a beautiful bottle of red. The food was divine, the service friendly and attentive and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. I ve been dying to go back. By Jason This is one of my favourite restaurants in Kingston. I love it. The atmosphere is amazing. Good to go out with friends for a quick dinner or to take that special someone. The food from the beginners to main entrees and desserts are all amazing. I have been here at least 20 times in my two years in Kingston. If you are looking for great food, awesome service and an overall good time visit Windmills - you won t be disappointed!
