From June 8-10, 2004 there is a Petroleum Conference in Calgary and prices will skyrocket to about $250 per night at hotels in and around Calgary. Most downtown hotels are already sold out. Therefore, we recommend that if you are visiting Calgary for more than the wedding weekend (which we would love to spend more time with every one of you) that you visit the week before or leave for other destinations after Sunday. We have booked rooms at the Holiday Inn on 12th Ave SW. We have a few rooms booked as of June 1st and then for the Friday and Saturday we booked 20 rooms reserved for each night. There are a few rooms available for Sunday, as well. The room rate for a double room is $89 per night. Please quote the booking code, GBW, at the time of booking your suite at the Holiday Inn otherwise you will not get this special rate and they might tell you the rooms are sold out. We will be having a casual dinner the night before at Sobaten, a sushi bar for anyone that wants to join us. The wedding ceremony and formal lunch is at The Ranche and we will party the evening away at the Holiday Inn in one of their banquet rooms. Even if you live in Calgary, it would be fun if we all stayed at the Holiday Inn at least on the Saturday. We will meet for breakfast on Sunday at around 10:30am in the hotel restaurant.
