ES Professional is a product of the Essential Skills Group Inc, a company created to help business incorporate Essential Skills strategies. The Essential Skills Group (ESG) is a national leader in the development of Essential Skills profiles. Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC) awarded ESG the British Columbia and Prairies territory for the Canada-wide Essential Skills Research Project. Their team interviewed and collected data from more than 800 workers in a wide variety of occupations. ESG was also contracted by HRSDC to analyze interview data from across Canada, create Essential Skills profiles for more than 60 occupations and validate them with industry associations. ES Professional is managed by Michael and Divona Herzog. Michael conceptualized and led the development of the ES Professional product suite. He provides ongoing product training and technical support to users. Michael is a certified Job Profile Analyst and an HRSDC-contracted Essential Skills profile writer with extensive corporate training experience. He has completed nearly 100 Essential Skills interviews and written dozens of Essential Skills profiles for governments, corporations and Crown corporations. A well-known Essential Skills trainer, Michael has developed and delivered over 100 Essential Skills workshops to industry, colleges, practitioners, trainers, associations and sector council groups in every region of the country. Topics of discussion included TOWES, IALS, curriculum development and Essential Skills methodologies and uses. Michael also served as an Essential Skills expert on three national Association of Canadian Community College (ACCC) projects where he reviewed and critiqued actions plans and delivered Essential Skills training to project partners. Michael holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Calgary and a Certificate in Non-Profit Management, along with his Essential Skills certification. In addition to being a certified Essential Skills profiler, Divona Herzog is a leading consultant in communications and organizational development. For the past twenty-five years, she has managed projects, facilitated retreats and conducted research for public and private sector organizations across Canada. Divona also designs and delivers corporate training that addresses the unique needs of adult learners. Her clients include the Forum of Labour Market Ministers, Human Resources & Skills Development Canada, Environment Canada, Calgary Health Region, Carewest, the University of Calgary, the Alberta Solicitor General and a variety of other provincial government departments.
