As an outspoken maverick, I recognized hyperactivity, learning disabilities and their medical component long before the community was sensitized to this problem. The focus of the Merle L. Levine Academy (MLA) is to help children acquire academic and social skills so that they can gain the self confidence they require to function as independent learners and become self-sufficient members of society. The school customizes individual programs for each student based upon his/her unique ability to learn.
